NOFI solid floatation booms
(EP-series)
This multi purpose containment boom is used in harbours,
sounds and fjords. It is built with a freeboard containing pellets
from expanded polystyrene (EP) inside an extra plastic bag. The
freeboard is segmented in 2 m long buoyancy chambers.
Between each segment there is a vertical weld that prevents seawater
from penetrating from one damaged chamber into the next.
Manual handling of 25 m standard sections is relatively easy due
to the soft freeboard in contrast to the log type solid floatation
booms.
Designed as a bottom tension boom the galvanized chain is somewhat
shorter than the fabric part of the boom. Thus the NOFI EP-series
maintains an excellent containment position in the sea. |

| The NOFI
EP-series may be delivered for different handling and storage purposes:
• on pallets in 25 m sections for deployment
directly from the beach or dockside
• on tailor made trailers for fast deployment directly from
the trailer bed
• mounted in "garages" hanging from rails for fast
deployment (especially designed for use at tank depots, refineries
and crude oil terminals)
• inside NOFI BoomBagsTM Pat. pend
