The speed of the first response very often determines whether the oil spill shall remain a minor incident or whether it will develop into a more costly spill. The NOFI BoomBag? is specially designed for fast response with a minimal requirement for boats and personnel.

The EP-series oil boom is packed in a zig-zag pattern inside the NOFI BoomBag?. It may be stored on the quay front for direct deployment or stored in a warehouse for forklift transportation to the quay. In both cases the time required to mobilize the boom for tow out to the spill site is extremely short. There is max. three persons required and virtually any boat of opportunity to mobilize the system.
After the BoomBag has been pulled into the sea the bag adds marginal resistance to the tow. The towing speed may be increased to 15 knots. The boom is deployed from the bag by simply dropping a sea anchor connected to a release line that frees the boom at the end of the bag.
