Integrated skimmer for NOFI Ocean Buster A free-floating skimmer is fitted in the separator and connects to a set of hydraulic supply lines. A cargo hose runs on the outside of the Ocean Buster all the way to the front of the inside guide boom.

From the end of the guide boom it connects to the OILREC vessels own power supply and the recovered oil is pumped directly into the storage tanks onboard.

This unique design eliminates the need for and additional hose drum because the entire NOFI Integrated Skimmer System is spooled back on to the boom reel, parallel with the Ocean Buster itself.

Needless to say the need for a separated skimming unit has been eliminated and the total system weight reduced dramatically. The system (boom and skimmer) cost is also reduced substantially.
