| Practical experience from oil spills
has documented that very often there is a lack of infrastructure available,
especially for storage of recovered products. The NOFI Inflatable
Oil Barge is a new and important contribution to the problem of temporary
storage of oil and oil emulsions. NOFI Inflatable Oil Barges in a series of three sizes, are made from very strong oil resistant PVC-fabric and a specially engineered fabric in 50/50 PU/PVC-coated polyester and with two layers of fabric in the entire freedboard. To provide full floatation redundancy and maximum safety against loss of oil the barges are divided into 14+3 independent air chambers. The design and dimensions of the freeboard frame are identical for all three sizes. Three different skirt depths (draughts) give three different storage volumes. Fast and easy air floatation by means of a powerful air blower secures fast deployment of the barges. NOFI Inflatable Oil Barges are delivered complete including a removable roof, towing lines, lifting slings, air blower and spare parts - all packed in a steel container. |
