Another milestone was reached last week after we completed the technical delivery of the systems acquired by the Brazilian oil company Petrobras for their operations in the Equatorial Margin area. AllMaritim has delivered ten NOFI Current Buster 6 systems, five containerized systems with the Normar Integrated Pump (IPS 4), and five units to be used as a redundancy system. The last commissioning was successfully carried out aboard Edison Chouest's vessels Corcovado, C-Warrior, and Mr Sidney by the crew of Bram Offshore.
The systems integrate Petrobras' Individual Emergency Plan approved by the Brazilian Environmental Agency, IBAMA, for drilling an exploratory well in deep waters in the Potiguar Basin (BM-POT-17-762) on the Brazilian Equatorial Margin.
This was the first environmental license issued on the Equatorial Margin and occurred after approval of the response strategy in the Pre-Operational Assessment (APO), a simulated exercise in which the operator proved its ability to respond to a potential oil spill.
We are glad to be part of this historic milestone, offering the NOFI Current Buster 6 / IPS 4 as a high-efficiency technology for areas with strong currents and demanding conditions where operational performance is a key factor.
